Interactive multimedia installation, 2000
The space of this installation is delineated by 6 screens arranged in a circle. 6 “computer–video projector” units play 6 films activated by 18 sensors. Each infrared beam interrupted by a spectator triggers the corresponding projection zone, instantly making a few seconds of images appear on the screen. Originally extracted from a television report, the images in the 6 films have been reworked according to a logical system integrating the notion of time. One or more figures appear. When activated by many viewers in this rotunda space, the spectacle becomes polyphonic. In absence of a viewer, the installation settles into an automatic program.A sound track composed of recorded varying voices completes the triggering of visual components.
